Celebrating one year of the PCA’s new website and brand identity
One year ago, the PCA took an important step in strengthening the support and resources offered to tied pub tenants across England and Wales: the launch of our brand‑new independent website and brand.
Within this first year, the site has been visited more than 30,000 times, demonstrating how valuable clear and accessible information is to tied tenants so they are able to understand their rights under the Pubs Code. To increase our recognition, the PCA’s new identity blends recognisable pub imagery and a classic beer and wine colour palette with a shield emblem, reflecting not only our strong connection to the industry we serve but also our commitment to fairness and protection.
Tied tenants need reliable guidance throughout their tenancy, and ensuring that rights information, guidance and dispute processes are visible and easy to find remains central to achieving fairness in the tied relationship. Our Know Your Rights section has become a key part of this support. It guides tenants through every stage of their journey, from the very beginning as potential tenants before agreements are signed, through their tenancy and negotiating rent renewal, to managing the end of their tenancy.
Over the past year, we have continued to build on this strong foundation. We have introduced a searchable database of published arbitration awards and a register of self-reported breaches by pub companies. Short, accessible video content now helps tenants quickly understand how the Pubs Code operates in practice and promotes greater transparency across the industry.
We are proud that the new website has received a Web Excellence Award in the Public Services category, recognising the high standards of its design, accessibility and user experience. This early recognition set the tone for what we aimed to achieve for the website, a trusted, intuitive and independent resource for tied tenants.
While our new website serves as the primary hub for tenant‑focused information, our Gov.uk presence remains active. It continues to host corporate documents and data, ensuring we meet statutory requirements while keeping tenant-facing guidance accessible and easy to navigate.
Our aim is to ensure the PCA’s independent website provides tied tenants with the tools and knowledge they need to understand their rights under the Pubs Code, while reinforcing confidence in the PCA’s regulatory and arbitration functions. One year on, we remain committed to strengthening awareness, transparency and fairness, and welcome feedback from tenants and stakeholders to help us continue improving the site.
