PCA meeting with the SPCA

Following the implementation of the Scottish Pubs Code on 31 March 2025, I recently met with Sarah Havlin, the Scottish Pubs Code Adjudicator in London.
We discussed the significant changes the Scottish Pubs Code brings for all tied pub tenants in Scotland, the rights it will give them, and the comparisons between the Code in England and Wales. There are similarities between the two Pubs Codes, and many differences.
Implementation of the Scottish Pubs Code will be complete when a Market Rent Only option is introduced in June 2025 to allow Scottish tied tenants the right to compare their tied and free-of-tie options and choose between them.
